Shira Feldenberg, Jew extraordinaire was born on September 10, 1987 in the lovely ocean town of Longport, New Jersey, which makes her the tender age of 20. Born to Brian and Ramona Feldenberg, she was the apple of their eye, having always given her everything she wanted. According to her parents she was the most well behaved baby they had ever seen. Glad that she belonged to them because they didn't have to stay up during the long hours of the night to take care of her constantly. She only cried when she was hungry or needed a diaper change. After Shira was born her parents decided not to have another child, since they enjoyed just having their one child. They knew that as she grew up there would be children around for Shira to play with since her parents were social butterflies. Which in the end caused lots of play dates.
One of the firsts was with a little boy named Ashley. Their parents were really close so they were put together often to play when either of the families would visit each others homes. Since their parents spent so much time together Ashley and Shira were always together when there was a babysitter, which made some fun for them when they liked to scheme. Shira's favorite activity was hiding from the babysitter and making her worry. Always making fun of Ashley because he always was found first. Their friendship grew as they did, lasting through elementary school and on. The boy was even her first dance at her Batmitzvah. That was the day she received the Star of David necklace that she never takes off.
In her junior year of High School Shira met the love of her life. A little brown Chihuahua who she lovingly named Matza Ball, Matz for short. She took him everywhere with her except to school since the one time that she did they told her to take him home. She did not go back to school that day. When it comes to Shira she claims that Matz is the only man who could ever win her heart.
Sadly one day during the summer before her Senior year of high school, Shira's parents told her that they were moving up to Connecticut since her grandfather had gotten sick and that the family should be close. As much as Shira loved her family she didn't want to leave her friends and knew that leaving would be tough on her. Their parents never sold the house, saying that one day they would be back and she could continue on where she left off before they left. Obviously that was impossible to do since she would already be graduated by the time of her return. While in CT her grandfather died a little over a year after they had arrived. It was a hard time for her family and it was one of those moments where she wished she was back in Longport so she could have a friend to talk to about it. She would talk to Ashley on the phone but it wasn't the same as having a shoulder to cry on.
Now two years later, Shira is back in Longport with her parents and Matz, living in the same house they had left behind. It has only been a week since she has been back but hasn't let anyone know, thinking they have all moved on. She's kept herself locked in her room and hidden between the shelves at the local Barnes and Noble, feeding her book craving since she hasn't been doing much with her life.
